We are investigating an issue with high bandwidth connections where, when OpenVPN is the tunnel mechanism, throughput is not as high as expected.
This does not affect all high bandwidth connections.
Alternative tunnel mechanisms are available, such as GRETAP. GRETAP tunnels are not encrypted, so are not recommended for site to site flows, unless the data is already encrypted.
Connections with significant bandwidth are currently being provisioned on new hardware and using GRETAPs to ensure maximum throughput.
Testing for the next major version of the network fabric will continue, with different tunnel mechanisms.
